Dampyr all'Inferno. Il mondo parallelo e l'avventura dantesca di Harlan Draka

The essay Dampyr all’Inferno follows closely the textual mechanisms through which the authors of the comic book appeared in Italy in November 2016, according to the typical keys of an adventure in images, re-elaborate the complex and enigmatic universe of Dante’s Inferno. The story of the comic book starts with the reading of a palimpsest (ancient medieval code) that triggers an unexpected and fantastic generation of a parallel world that conforms to Dante’s great text. But the similarities between the latter and the adventure of Dampyr are only the first indication of a textual reconstruction which, finally, turns out to be a real regeneration of the narrative and symbolic space of Dante’s Inferno, in the vital and unpredictable intersection between scriptures and images.
