An increase amount of exhibitions, art works and essays prove that, at the beginning of XXI century, the wonder has a starring role in the contemporary exhibition scene. Overcoming the boundaries, less and less certain and incisive, between the disciplines, in the last few years the wonder has led to both the work of the artists and curators (sometimes artist-curator) ant the institution's exhibition politics. The essay focuses on some crucial questions underlining how the phenomena affects the definition of the art work status and the history of art.
