The purpose of the real work – to emphasize that Sorokin’s theories which are partially forgotten or ignored by the last generations of sociologists are still modern. Their strength is that they are based on the aspiration to integrate the points of view and methodologies of different humanitarian and social sciences. This article is based on the analysis of researches of Sorokin on problems of mass disasters.
