Although computation offloading has been widely discussed into research literature, as an optimisation mechanism that can utilise remote CPU resources on Cloud, it has not been extensively applied in highly constrained devices due to its long latency and the unreliability of the Internet connection. In a previous work, a Fog-Mist Computing Framework was proposed, which claims to offer lower latency and remove the need for the persistent Internet connectivity. The Fog-Mist Computing underlying architecture is made up of Fog-Nodes and Mist-Node. The Mist-Node are placed directly within the edge fabrics, thus providing the Mobile Devices with connectivity services and low latency computational resources. In this paper, the MQTT, a Publisher/Subscriber messaging protocol, is adopted to deploy a Remote Function Invocation among the Nodes of such a Framework, at the edge of the network.
