Abstract The role of the primary care physician (PCP) is fundamental and central in diagnosis and treatment of eating disorders eating disorders (eating disorders) anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, binge eating disorder (BED) and eating disorders not otherwise specified (EDNOS). The above role is articulated in the various moments that go from health promotion, to prevention (primary, secondary and tertiary), to early diagnosis with the identification of new cases, to the evaluation of seriousness, to the treatment of mild and medium cases severity, sending to the specialist, managing any complications and follow-up.
