Abstract
The recovery of abandoned areas and buildings is an urgent and priority issue in the government of cities and territories. The recovery project of buildings in a state of ruins that still have architectural features and monumental historical values not negligible is particularly complicated and, at the same time, inspire the practice and imagination of architects and technicians. By starting from the analysis of the potential and criticality of the “project of ruins”, the contribution analyses the historical and architectural development of a building symbol of the city of Avellino (Italy) – Dogana dei Grani – planning a compatible proposal for recovery and reuse, based on the principles of quality, sustainability, reversibility of the intervention, which can return to history and to the community a historical building in a particularly fertile city context that would otherwise certainly disappear, both physically and in the memory of the people.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
