The enhancement of archaeological, museum and monumental sites requires, in addition to aspects related to physical conservation, also essential qualitative aspects, such as accessibility, usability, environmental comfort, safety, according to the logic of an expanded audience. The restoration and enhancement project, according to the principles of integrated conservation and universal design, must aim at an easy use of the building and the sites of interest, by the greatest possible number of visitors, including those with disabilities: a new perception of users, global type, without distinction of classes or types. In recent years, ICT research has developed non-invasive technological innovations that are proposed as a valid support tool to improve the usability and accessibility of sites of historical and monumental interest. Improving the usability of historical sites facilitates understanding and reading, not only from the physical and panoramic point of view, but evoking strong and pleasant sensations, aromas, fragrances, and transporting the user into a past dimension.

Abstract
Improving the usability of historical sites facilitates understanding and reading, not only from the physical and panoramic point of view, but evoking strong and pleasant sensations, aromas, fragrances, and transporting the user into a past dimension.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
