It is the purpose of this paper to provide an insight into spline collocation methods for the numerical solution of fractional differential equations. Matrix forms of one and two step spline collocation methods are given, for a direct usage into an algorithm. Numerical experiments compare accuracy and efficiency of these two classes of methods.
