In this paper we make some remarks on an interesting mathematical method which is, in our opinion, wrongfully undervalued. We mention its many applications analyzing in particular Maxwell equations. Indeed, starting from the definition of an ordinary frame of reference in General Relativity, we consider the Cattaneo's projection technique to write the intrinsic formulation of evolution equations of the electromagnetic matter. © 2013 Springer Science+Business Media New York.
