The influence of environmental conditions on the decay of 7Be is of interest in nuclear physics and astrophysics. We present a novel approach, where the variation due to electric fields and ionization state is investigated using the 7Be beam from the 3MV Tandem of CIRCE-DMF, University of Campania, Caserta. In the first case, 7Be is implanted in a SiC diode where an intense field is generated when the diode is reverse-biased. In the second case, 7Li produced by the in-flight decay of accelerated 7Be ions in different charge states are detected. We show the feasibility of the proposed approaches and the commissioning of the experimental setup, that is now available for higher statistics (i.e., sensitivity) experiments planned for the next years
