This essay concentrates on some etymologies and on some remarks on language in Giacomo Leopardi’s Zibaldone which have not been throughout investigated yet. From this perspective, Leopardi’s thought appears to be specifically connected with the one of Giambattista Vico: a comparison between the two allows us to better understand, in conformity with the most recent studies, to what extent Leopardi can be considered Vico’s ‘heir’.

Abstract
This essay concentrates on some etymologies and on some remarks on language in Giacomo Leopardi’s Zibaldone which have not been throughout investigated yet. From this perspective, Leopardi’s thought appears to be specifically connected with the one of Giambattista Vico: a comparison between the two allows us to better understand, in conformity with the most recent studies, to what extent Leopardi can be considered Vico’s ‘heir’.File in questo prodotto:
