The article analyzes the characters and peculiarities of the ecological model in Ecuador and Bolivia, in the context of the new Latin American constitutionalism. In particular, it examines the new norms on the recognition and protection of the rights of nature and the legal implications of this recognition, which has resulted in a shift in the focus of constitutional action from the anthropocentric vision of liberal ideology to a cosmocentric approach where the Earth ecosystem becomes the holder of constitutionally protected rights and the number of fundamental rights is expanded as never before.

Abstract
