Current environmental policies encourage methodologies for applying EU legislation to buildings. This approach requires a transition from the concept of emissions in the operation phase, to emissions of the entire life cycle of the building, hoping for a circular process. The recovery of the historical heritage is one of the environmental objectives, with a view to protecting non-renewable resources and reducing land consumption. The study has developed a methodology for the sustainability of interventions of recovery and conservation of protected buildings, through a Building Life Cycle approach, minimizing CO2e emissions. The model was developed based on the fields of analysis of EN 15978:2011 (production, end of life, benefits beyond the system boundary). The results show that the most relevant contributions, in terms of CO2e reduction, derive from the use of wooden technological units assembled "dry".
