The paper analyses the new regulations on the affiliation to a club and the ‘vincolo sportivo’ provided for, respectively, by articles 15, 16 and 31 of the Italian Legislative Decree no. 36 of 28 February 2021. After examining the issues involved, the attention is focused on the role of the rules laid down by sports federations and their correct place within the unitary Italian-European legal system.
