The considerations proposed here tend to be placed in the wake of an already begun, but not yet consolidated, historiographical reflection on the themes of the "Waldensian presence" on the Italian territory between the late Middle Ages and the early modern age. The aim of these pages, more precisely, is to highlight some historical paths, which since the 1970s have rekindled the spotlight of Italian historiography on the theme of the Waldensians as a historical and historiographical problem.
