The present work proposes a methodology that provides the framework for a dynamic investigation, both in terms of historical geometric data and architecturalconstructive identification and mapping of decay. The research focused on data enrichment for preservation and restoration purposes. Non-standardized architectural elements and the absence of parameters related to degradation still represent some of the main issues addressed in HBIM. Using a BIM design approach, while also paying attention to how degradation is represented, with the help of appropriately created shared parameters, making it possible to develop a model populated with information necessary for building analysis and intervention planning. The elaboration of the mapping automatized projection system, via a VP script, and its application to the case study allowed us to show its potential as a tool for managing historical heritage, thus eliminating fragmentation and loss of information, and reducing the amount of time and the cost involved in the data collection process.
