The article discusses the main points of consonance and divergence between Bataille and Eric Weil on the theme of the relations between language, freedom and violence, present in L'erotisme and in Logique de la philosophie. Bataille sees in Weil's hegelianism useful materials - more ductile than those offered by Kojève - to corroborate the elaboration of a dialectic without conciliation, capable of recognising that man is mixture and impurity. Indeed, the mutual exclusion of reason and violence does not exclude their contact. Their irreducibility points to a third element, that of their very succession – a figure truer than that of simple opposition, more capable of guiding the search for a 'universalistic' bond between men.

Abstract
The article discusses the main points of consonance and divergence between Bataille and Eric Weil on the theme of the relations between language, freedom and violence, present in L'erotisme and in Logique de la philosophie. Bataille sees in Weil's hegelianism useful materials - more ductile than those offered by Kojève - to corroborate the elaboration of a dialectic without conciliation, capable of recognising that man is mixture and impurity. Indeed, the mutual exclusion of reason and violence does not exclude their contact. Their irreducibility points to a third element, that of their very succession – a figure truer than that of simple opposition, more capable of guiding the search for a 'universalistic' bond between men.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
