The contribution proposes to examine the peculiar characteristics of the cults of Phocaea and its colonies, highlighting differences and similarities, continuity and discontinuity on the basis of the literary, epighraphic, numismatic and archaeological sources. This examination allows to trace a profile of the deities venerated in every single city. The attention is focused on a particular topic: the cult of Cybele.
