In the summer of 1947, three young friends, Yves Klein, Claude Pascal and Armand Fernandez, sit on the beach in Nice. They are not artists yet, they do nothing and waste their time filling it with projects and words. They sunbathe, look at the sea and sky of the Mediterranean, make enthusiastic statements about the Great Art of the future and share nature, like children who divide an imaginary kingdom. Klein takes the blue of the sky he can see, as the absolute and ideal color of the painting. Yves le Monochrome will say several times that, that summer morning, he took a fantastic trip, as if he were an astronaut conquering space, and he signed, as if it were a canvas painted in blue, the other side of this beautiful cloudless sky: the most beautiful and the greatest of his works. This blue sky painted blue is an immaterial and impossible work, not made by the hands of the artist, with colors, brushes and fabrics, but explained with his words, myths and legends.
