This contribution examines the lessons that Italy can draw from the Covid-19 pandemic and the state of health emergency it triggered. We specifically focus on some lessons regarding the Italian National Health Service (SSN) and healthcare policy that could be implemented, possibly with the use of the European Recovery Fund (Next Generation EU). The lessons can be identified in the following points: the value of a universal healthcare service, the transition from epidemiological transition towards a model of territorial services and prevention, and against differentiated autonomy in favor of responsible and solidary regionalism.

Abstract
This contribution examines the lessons that Italy can draw from the Covid-19 pandemic and the state of health emergency it triggered. We specifically focus on some lessons regarding the Italian National Health Service (SSN) and healthcare policy that could be implemented, possibly with the use of the European Recovery Fund (Next Generation EU). The lessons can be identified in the following points: the value of a universal healthcare service, the transition from epidemiological transition towards a model of territorial services and prevention, and against differentiated autonomy in favor of responsible and solidary regionalism.File in questo prodotto:
