The paper introduces and examines the innovative environmental education initiative called “Greenopoli”. This program has engaged over 600 schools and 80,000 students, both in Italy and internationally, spanning from December 2014 to the present. At the core of Greenopoli is the belief that children and youth possess a unique capacity to grasp and comprehend environmental issues, often surpassing adults. The initiative aims to empower them as catalysts for change, encouraging them to influence and drive transformative actions within their extended families. Emphasizing environmental education during childhood and youth is pivotal not only for instilling a sense of active citizenship but also for ensuring that these messages resonate with a broader audience. Greenopoli recognizes three fundamental aspects of educational activities - content, methods, and timing - that need customization based on the age of the students, ranging from kindergarten to higher education. The program devises effective strategies to achieve its objectives, recognizing the varying needs and capabilities at different stages of education. To disseminate the method, a novel book titled “Tùttu-cià” was meticulously crafted, prioritizing innovative design. Each chapter unfolds with a creative blend of elements, featuring a rap song, a playful rhyme, or a narrative. The content is thoughtfully augmented with clear explanations and enhanced by video resources easily accessible through QR codes.

Abstract
The content is thoughtfully augmented with clear explanations and enhanced by video resources easily accessible through QR codes.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
