For academic and research purpuses in photovoltaic (PV) systems it is very important to get as much in-formation as possible from the PV array, especially the main variables (irradiance, temperature, voltage and current) of each panel. The implementation of such an measurement system by using comertial ele-ments would be expensive and difficult to modify for research labours. This paper presents the characteris-tics and operation of a characterization and monito-ring tool for PV arrays that allows the irradiance and temperature measurement with low cost elements and proposes a commnunication system, easy to ex-pand, to perform measurements up to 32 panels.

Abstract
For academic and research purpuses in photovoltaic (PV) systems it is very important to get as much in-formation as possible from the PV array, especially the main variables (irradiance, temperature, voltage and current) of each panel. The implementation of such an measurement system by using comertial ele-ments would be expensive and difficult to modify for research labours. This paper presents the characteris-tics and operation of a characterization and monito-ring tool for PV arrays that allows the irradiance and temperature measurement with low cost elements and proposes a commnunication system, easy to ex-pand, to perform measurements up to 32 panels.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
