Notizie preliminari sul monastero di Sancta Maria de Vetro (Salerno)

This paper is the result of a study on the Monastery of Sancta Maria de Vetro, a religious structure from the Middle Ages, which is located on Monte Stella in Salerno. Everything is based, on one side, on the analysis of the few published and unpublished written sources available, and on the other, on archaeological observations about the few structures which are still visible. The work is proposed as a reconstruction of the historical phases of the monastery, made possible by the analysis of economic, social, historical and topographical aspects provided by written and archaeological sources. Furthermore, it is proposed as a consolidation of some studies, already carried out in the last century, made possible by the use of the modern technologies which are used today by the archaeological discipline.
