The aim of this essay is to revisit the pages Stiegler devotes to his critique of Lévi-Strauss’s «anthropological nihilism», which draws on scientific speculations about entropy to support a bleak vision of humanity’s future and, above all, of its cultural, technological and industrial evolution as a catalyst for such universal entropy. This essay sets out to demonstrate the need to exorcise the obscure fascination exerted by «anthropological nihilism» on both the humanist and scientific sides, in order to re-articulate in a pharmacological key the conditions of possibility for the dialogue between sciences needed to ward off the harmful results of the ecological crisis.

Abstract
The aim of this essay is to revisit the pages Stiegler devotes to his critique of Lévi-Strauss’s «anthropological nihilism», which draws on scientific speculations about entropy to support a bleak vision of humanity’s future and, above all, of its cultural, technological and industrial evolution as a catalyst for such universal entropy. This essay sets out to demonstrate the need to exorcise the obscure fascination exerted by «anthropological nihilism» on both the humanist and scientific sides, in order to re-articulate in a pharmacological key the conditions of possibility for the dialogue between sciences needed to ward off the harmful results of the ecological crisis.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
