The aim of this work is the seismic design of frame in the medium ductility class (DC2) introduced in the framework of the second generation of the Eurocode 8. The case study regards a perimeter Moment Resisting Frame (MRF) designed with a procedure aligned with prEN1998 draft that proposes simplified design rules to prevent the type-3 mechanism (the so called soft-storey). The main goal is to apply these design rules to a case study and to verify the design philosophy by pushover analysis.

Abstract
