Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) was created as a tool to measure the productivity of company equipment. It provides a complete view of the performance of production equipment in terms of productivity and efficiency. It also supports managers in identifying areas where improvements can be made to reduce downtime and increase production. The use of OEE has rapidly spread, becoming a tool not necessarily linked to physical equipment, but also complex processes. TERNA, the Italian TSO, has recently launched a process for the definition and use of OEE metrics for monitoring the effectiveness of the dispatching service for which it is responsible. The introduction of these metrics made possible to highlight some operating conditions which suggested the strengthening of operating procedures, guaranteeing safe and increasingly economical operation of the electricity system.

Abstract
Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) was created as a tool to measure the productivity of company equipment. It provides a complete view of the performance of production equipment in terms of productivity and efficiency. It also supports managers in identifying areas where improvements can be made to reduce downtime and increase production. The use of OEE has rapidly spread, becoming a tool not necessarily linked to physical equipment, but also complex processes. TERNA, the Italian TSO, has recently launched a process for the definition and use of OEE metrics for monitoring the effectiveness of the dispatching service for which it is responsible. The introduction of these metrics made possible to highlight some operating conditions which suggested the strengthening of operating procedures, guaranteeing safe and increasingly economical operation of the electricity system.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
