Inlet and outlet flows describe the characteristics of water tanks during time, especially about the amount of services they are connected to. The possibility of having detailed data iterated through time allows us to perform a precise description of the tank in analysis, its strengths, and its criticalities from structural and organizational points of view, for water management purposes. In this contribution, the authors present a twofold analysis starting from time series data of inlet flow, outlet flow, and water level of two water tanks located in the Campania region, Italy. Data were collected for two different timespans, covering one year or more. Exploratory data analysis performed enlightens the possibility of describing the main characteristics of the water tanks and, above all, their similarities and differences. Such analysis, eventually, can serve as a basis for administrative and technical decisions on the water tank management, to maximize its functioning, preserve it from early deterioration, and to avoid water wasting.
