La cura come attività lavorativa e non di aiuto: il caso dello sportello badanti dell’Unione dei Comuni del Chianti

Caregiving for the elderly and those who are not self-sufficient in gene-ral now represents one of the sectors with the greatest labor demand, but also one in which challenging working conditions persist. This job is often perceived as not being such by the employer families. Added to this critical aspect is the specific challenge of matching labor supply and demand, and the difficulty to respect contractual regulations. The case of the caregivers’ help desk at the Union of Chianti Municipalities offers an interesting case study to reflect on the extent of these problems and the attempts to overcome them.
