The article analyzes the conflicts arising from the administration of justice during the fair of Salerno and the institutions involved in the government of this commercial event in Modern Age. Thanks to unpublished archival documents, the research about the office of Mastro di Fiera provided further information on the economic interests resulting from the governance of the fair and on the many contentions between civic and central institutions and notable local families.
