Quantification and integration of ecosystem indices for the clustering of coastal municipalities in the Calabria and Campania Regions (Italy)

Coastal areas are particularly fragile contexts in which the intensification of urbanization pro-cesses and the worsening effects of climate change directly impact the territory's ability to generate and maintain ecosystem services essential to collective well-being. Oriented towards the planning of sustainable ecosystem services in coastal areas, this study proposes the application of an in-novative methodology aimed at quantifying ecosystem indices representative of the factors in-fluencing ecosystem services, divided into inhibitors and drivers. The experiment was conducted in the coastal municipalities of the Calabria and Campania Regions.
