The structures of ophidianosides B (I; n = 0, R = H, R1 = OH, R2 = CH2OH) (II), C (I; n = 0, R = OH, R1 = R2 = H) (III), E (I; n = 1, R = H, R1 = OH, R2 = CH2OH) (IV), and F (I; n = 1, R = OH, R1 = R2 = H), isolated from O. ophidianus, were detd. by chem. and spectral means. IV is identical to thornasteroside A, previously isolated from Acanthaster planci. The major saponins of H. attenuata were identical to II and III.
