Abstract
The modern ideas about the forma produced by the Roman mensores ending theri work appear rather optimistic, but condemned to be denied by the archaeological finds, maybe even in the future. The multiplicity of maps designed for one agrarian division and allotment arises not only from the plurality of legal status of the lots involved, but also from an ancient scale drawing technique only approximately similar to the modern one. Accordingly, the two major 'geographique miniatures' of the codex Arcerianus A must be decidedly re-evaluated and otherwise interpreted.File in questo prodotto:
