The MS Frankfurt am Main, Universitätsbibliothek Johann Christian Senckenberg,Barth. 32, written in Fulda during the first third of the 9th century, is considered to be oneof the finest examples of ‘Carolingian glossed Psalters’. The marginal gloss to Psalm 118 is the work of two scribes, who made extensive use of the commentary on Psalm 118 includedin Alcuin’s Enchiridion in Psalmos. This paper examines the use of Alcuinian material in MS Barth. 32, with particular focus on the convergences between the Fulda glosses, on the onehand, and a particular family (φ) of the manuscript tradition of Alcuin’s Enchiridion, on the other hand.
