Ellissi e predicazione. La significazione nel campo simbolico del linguaggio

In Theory of language (Sprachtheorie) Karl Bühler deals with Ellipsis and propositions. His remarks are based on his two-fields theory: deictic field and symbolic field. The paper proposes the path traced by the author in his best-known work Sprachtheorie (1934), in which some considerations about ellipsis are introduced through the symbolic field’s analysis. The contribution consists in a set of notes and reflections about deixis, proposition and predication analyzed by the author. Indeed Buhler’s study of proposition and ellipsis combines syntactic and pragmatic aspects through the “Synsemantic field” analysis and the “Symbolic field” one. The purpose of this article is to emphasize the central role of deixis in communication following Bühler’s thought.
