The article presents the critical edition of several short prayers in Occitan and the “indications for use” transcribed on c. 1v of the manuscript Paris, Bibliothèque de l’Arsenal, 99, hitherto unpublished. The study is accompanied by a linguistic analysis that indicates the Nice region as the area of origin of these prayers. In addition, the codicological-paleographic description of the manuscript is deepened and at some points corrected, assigning it to the first third of the 15th century. This operation allows to better understand the cultural background of the owner of the codex, who is also likely the author of the short vernacular text.

The study is accompanied by a linguistic analysis that indicates the Nice region as the area of origin of these prayers. In addition, the codicological-paleographic description of the manuscript is deepened and at some points corrected, assigning it to the first third of the 15th century. This operation allows to better understand the cultural background of the owner of the codex, who is also likely the author of the short vernacular text.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
