Abstract
In the late summer of 1943 the province of Benevento was deeply involved in World War II. The capital and numerous towns suffered heavy bombing by the Allies. In the wake of the armistice, moreover, the province was occupied by Germans, who remained for a short time, from 20 to 40 days, but anyway committed many atrocities against population. The response of Benevento’s people was largely of passive resistance. There were, however, several cases of active and armed resistance, by both soldiers and ordinary citizens.I documenti in IRIS sono protetti da copyright e tutti i diritti sono riservati, salvo diversa indicazione.
