This article proposes an analysis of the novel Magdalufi (2018) by the Argentinean writer Verónica Sánchez Viamonte. The author, daughter of desaparecidos, organizes the narrative around fragments that span her entire life, from childhood to maturity. After a reflection on the meaning of the fragment as a narrative device, the analysis will focus on the large number of textual and iconic images that construct the novel. The aim is to demonstrate how, through her formal and thematic choices, Sánchez Viamonte manages to propose an alternative way of facing her identity as a daughter of desaparecidos that involves the rescue of the affections that remain despite the trauma.
